Companies based in the Humber region and operating in manufacturing, engineering or the renewable energy supply chain could be eligible for funding through Green Port Hull.

Green Port Hull is hosting three free events throughout October at The Hub at the Central Library, so businesses can find about funding and subsidies for upskilling existing employees, recruiting apprentices and individuals from disadvantaged groups.

Bob Ferraby, Economic Inclusion Manager for the Green Port Growth Programme Skills and Employment team, commented:

“The Hub has evolved since opening in 2015, when our services were centred on the Siemens blade factory on Alexandra Dock and its workforce recruitment. Now, we’ve broadened our offering to incorporate all manufacturing, engineering and energy companies in the region.

“Not only do we help jobseekers, but also businesses. Whether it’s finding their next employee or sourcing funding towards workforce training, we want manufacturing and engineering firms to know it’s not all about renewables and offshore wind. We hope they will come to this event to find out more about what is available to them.”
