Green Port Hull held an event to give businesses interested in the renewables sector the opportunity to network and learn about work in the supply chain.

More than 100 people from 70 local businesses attended the event, which saw presentations from Simon Brett, of ABP, giving an update on current and aspirational dock developments on the Humber, as well as Paul Savvides, the UK procurement lead for Siemens plc Wind Power. Paul talked about the growth of the ‘UK’s energy estuary’, and the potential supply chain opportunities for our local businesses.

Dawn Hall, Project Manager from the Green Port Growth Programme’s business support team, who organised the event, commented:

“It was great to see representatives from so many different companies there. It was the first networking event we’ve held, so we were delighted with the turnout and the feedback we received. It was a great chance for businesses to meet other like-minded companies and learn more about the renewables supply chain and the opportunities there. We are looking forward to 2016 and the developments that will be made regionally in this sector.”
