Councillor Stephen Brady, Leader of Hull City Council, said:
“This is fantastic and I welcome today’s news.
“I would like to thank Siemens for their continued commitment and confidence in Green Port Hull, it is the best investment decision they could have made.
“I am looking forward to working with Siemens to capitalise on Hull’s position and their investment at the dawn in this new industry.
“This facility will create 1,000 jobs and apprenticeships for the city which is a key aspiration in our 10-year City Plan. It is great to see work underway and local people working on this huge project.
“This is a world-class facility that will lead the way putting Hull and the Humber on the map as the leading energy estuary of the UK.”
