Our Wind Power business has invested £160 million in a new rotor blade manufacturing facility, project construction, assembly and service facility at Green Port Hull in Yorkshire.
The 1,000 strong manufacturing and assembly facility in Hull has been fully operational since October 2016. We are now recruiting for an EHS Manager to be part of this exciting business.
What are my responsibilities?
The EHS Manager will ensure implementation of EHS standards, principles and guidelines at site. You will contribute to the setting of local EHS-related targets and request the required EHS resources to meet these targets.
As the key contact on all EHS matter you will lead the EHS team members and liaise with all relevant functions and stakeholders. You will support the implementation of management system including monitoring, controlling and reporting as required.
This role has the functional responsibility for advising on EHS topic areas (all relevant EHS topic areas of EHS principles) and assessing the effectiveness of operational control and risk mitigation. You will also drive EHS-related programs and initiatives and establish agreements and cooperation with all relevant internal and external stakeholders. You will determine, plan and initiate all continuous improvement activities to ensure that CAPAs (corrective and preventive actions) are executed.
Finally, a key part of your role will be to consult management regarding the interpretation of legal and Siemens internal requirements (e.g. Zero Harm) and act as an interface to different business managers at Siemens
What do I need to qualify for this role?
This role requires someone with proven experience within a manufacturing or plant based environment. You must be a confident manager who can lead and direct a team. You will have a minimum professional qualification of NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent with Chartered Membership of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH) and Associate Membership Certificate or equivalent with Associate Membership of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (AIEMA).
You will have extensive knowledge of and experience of working with and developing EHS Management Systems. Finally, you will be able to work with an international team across functions and deal with multiple projects confidently.
