Maintenance Technician

Our Maintenance Technicians are responsible for the daily maintenance of machinery tools and other plant equipment to ensure all are in an optimum state of repair with maximum operating efficiency and minimum downtime.

We look for candidates who possess very high levels of attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions in a logical and safe manner. If you have a passion for delivering quality and work well within a team environment this could be the job for you.

Previous experience working within a manufacturing environment is essential for this role.

Useful skills and entry qualifications

  • Experience of maintaining production machinery
  • Fork Lift Truck License
  • A focus on health and safety is essential

  • A desire to continuously improve 
  • Ability to work shifts including nights and weekends
  • The flexibility to travel to Denmark for training purposes (with at least 6 months left on your passport at the end of training)

What training will I receive?

You will undertake training where you’ll learn about Siemens policies and processes. You will learn the very detailed requirements of the role particularly in relation to safety.

You will receive training on our specialist machinery.

Whats involved?

This role involves standing, walking and some manual lifting always whilst paying close attention to the health and safety of yourself and those around you.

Roles in the plant are safety critical and random drug and alcohol tests will be carried out. Failing this test could result in dismissal.

You will be working as part of a team and you’ll need to build excellent relationships.

Activities they carry out are:

  • Scheduled and remedial maintenance of various types of equipment.
  • Contributes to installation projects on site, and provides support to Industrial Engineers as required.
  • Supports maintenance of technical documentation of processes and equipment if required.
  • Coaching and advising other employees technically if required.
  • Works according to Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles

The recruitment process

You will have a face to face interview and you will be asked to give examples of things you have done to show us what level of skills and experience you have and as importantly, tells us what behaviours you think are important.

There may also be a technical test to assess your competence.

You will be asked to complete an online behavioural questionnaire and there will be a medical.

It’s very important that we collaborate and work as a team so you may be asked to complete a difficult task with others and we’ll watch you to give us an indication of how you interact.
