Learning and Training
Residents and businesses in Hull and East Yorkshire can access information regarding learning and training opportunities through the Green Port Hub.
Situated in Hull’s Central Library, the facility gives the latest updates regarding the Green Port Hull and Siemens developments, as well as an overview of the renewables projects in the region – the UK’s energy capital.
The Hub is home to an exhibition showing the progress of the Siemens development, enabling visitors to find out more about working in the offshore wind industry.
Run by the Green Port Growth Programme Employment and Skills Team, in partnership with Jobcentre Plus, and Siemens, The Hub is equipped with IT pods so jobseekers can search for employment opportunities and apply for jobs online.
A Siemens recruitment representative will be based at The Hub one day a week, along with staff from Jobcentre Plus, and the team can provide assistance in CV writing and online applications.
Whether your are in education, employed or looking for work, the Green Port Hub can support and help you with things like:
- Writing your CV
- Searching and applying for jobs online
- Mock interviews
- Getting access to the internet
Your Work Coach at Jobcentre Plus or your Adviser at your Work Programme provider can help you to access training, improve your employability skills and provide advice on your cv and interview practice.
The Pathway to Employment project is designed to help long term unemployed people get the skills and work experience they need to access employment in the renewables and manufacturing sectors.
